Test Mode
For the purposes of testing and debugging clients, we offer a test mode when doing any toolkit request. This is activated by setting the test=1 parameter in your requests.
When test mode is activated the Toolkit switches to a non-live mirror of our main database, and carries out all transactions on that. This means that you can test your registration and modification programs without having to worry about affecting real live domains.
However, the same rules still apply on the test database, so you will not be able to use the same domain name twice, and so on. Also, if you have defined an IP address from which you are accessing the toolkit, you may find that if you change it, test mode will take a while to move over to the new IP.
