Test Mode
For the purposes of testing and debugging clients, we offer a test mode when doing any toolkit request. This is activated by setting the test=1 parameter in your requests.
When test mode is activated the Toolkit switches to a mirror of our main database, and carries out all transactions on that. This means that you can test your registration and modification programs without having to worry about affecting domains in the production system.
You will also need to use your test account credentials when using test mode. These can be obtained from the Registrar Console. Production account credentials will not be accepted in test mode.
